Lonely Planet and Rough Guide actively discourage cycling in Mexico but the reality is Mexico is actually a fantastic place for cycle touring. Often stereotyped negatively and nearly always misunderstood Mexico is an amazing travel destination. It does have its oddities and challenges but most cyclists crossing the Americas often cite it as their favourite country. I decided to start this website for those seeking information about cycling in Mexico. Available here is a basic source of information based almost exclusively on my experiences cycling there as a solo male with intermediate Spanish with a helpful contribution from Christina, a Canadian woman who cycled solo in Mexico. Likewise by reading this website you agree that the author is not to be held responsible in any way for the content provided here – all the information posted is here based on personal experiences alone – and while I’ve tried to be as accurate as possible, they are still opinions. If you see anything which you think needs changing or updating don’t hesitate to contact me.
